Freeze Dried Garlic
Have you ever started dinner only to realize you have no garlic and its too late to go to the store? Freeze dried on the shelf will last for years and always offer you the next best thing to fresh.
Every year, in the fall, I freeze dry garlic for those that want great garlic throughout the winter and not have to resort to store bought foreign garlic. To reconstitute, cover the dried garlic with water for 10 minutes and you will have garlic as fresh as it was when dried. For those garlicholics, they are great as a snack. Warning...they are very intense. Each pack is 2 oz
Freeze drying retains 95% of allicin whereas commercial dehydrating destroys about 50%
